Apple supplier Q Tech said that its sales volume of camera modules reached 32.246 million units in August, sliding by 8.4% from a year earlier, but rising by 1.8% from the previous month.

The year-on-year decline is attributable to reduction in contracting and shipping of low-end products as the company focused on the camera modules business of mid-to-high-end products during the period, it said.

The month-on-month pickup was due to client projects’ cyclical factors and the deepening of the company’s cooperations with its major customers in mid-to-high-end products, it said.

Of the major products, sales of handset camera modules reached 31.34 million units, sliding 9.6% from a year earlier, up 1.1% from the previous months. Sales of fingerprint recognition modules reached 10.17 million units, rising by 13.2% from a year earlier and up 14.4% from the previous month, due to increasing market share.
