China vows to cut energy consumption in raw materials industries by 2025

China pledges to reduce energy consumption in raw materials industry to support the country's efforts to achieve carbon-peaking and carbon-neutrality goals.

By 2025, the production capacity of key raw material and bulk products such as crude steel and cement will only decrease not increase, and the capacity utilization rate will remain at a reasonable level, according to a five-year development plan issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and two other government agencies.
