China will require internet platform companies holding personal information of more than 1 million users to go through a cybersecurity review before they apply to foreign regulators to raise funds through overseas listings, according to finalized rules released by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) on Tuesday.
The cybersecurity review process, which was first proposed last year, will be implemented from February 15 as the country further tightens regulation on the technology sector.
