China issued 4 billion euro bonds in Paris, its first issuance since 2004

Chinese government has just issued 4 billion euro-denominated sovereign bonds in Paris, which is the first time China has issued the euro-denominated sovereign bonds since 2004.

The move is “an important action to support the building of Paris international financial center and deepen financial cooperation between China and France as well as China and Europe,” said Chinese President Xi Jinping while meeting with visiting French President Emmanuel Macron in Beijing, according to Xinhua.
