The partial closure of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the world’s largest port by cargo throughput, is worsening congestion at other Chinese ports, as ships divert away from the port amid uncertainty over when the services could be fully resumed.

Analysts and industry insiders expect further disruptions at the port as a result of Meishan terminal’s closure since August 11 after a worker was tested positive for coronavirus. Nonetheless, they say the impact on the global supply chain is expected to be milder than those seen earlier this year at Shenzhen's Yantian Port . . .
