China has approved the plan to establish of a world's largest rare earth company, according to several state-run news outlets including Securities Times.

The new company, to be named China Rare Earth Group, will be set up as early as this month in Jiangxi province, a major rare earth production hub, and it will merge rare earth-related assets of several state-owned companies including China Minmetals Corporation, Aluminium Corporation of China . . .
