More than 600 million tourist trips were recorded in China during the National Day holiday as people are more willing to travel after the coronavirus outbreak was brought under control, but tourism revenue remained significantly lower than last year.

China recorded 637 million domestic tourists trips in the eight-day holiday, representing a 79 per cent drop from the same period last year, and tourism revenue amounted to 466.56 billion yuan, about 69.9 per cent of a year earlier, according to data from the China Tourism Academy, a think tank under the Ministry of Culture . . .
