China's steel product consumption is expected to hit a new record high of 981 million tonnes this year, rising 9.6 per cent or about 100 million tonnes from last year, according to a report released by the China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute (MPI), a government think tank.
The country's crude steel output is estimated to reach 1.05 billion tonnes this year, also an all-time high, rising 5.4 per cent . . .
