China’s air passenger traffic recovered to nearly 90% of year-ago level in October amid holiday, promotions

China’s civil aviation industry continued to recover in October boosted by strong travel demand during the “golden week” holiday and fly-at-will promotions. Some regions see slower recovery recently amid small flare-ups of the coronavirus.

The number of air passengers totaled 50.32 million in October, bringing it back to 88.3 per cent of the level seen in the same period last year, according to data released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China on Friday. That represents an increase from 47.94 million passengers in September.
