Beijing’s city government on Tuesday raised its coronavirus emergency response measures to level II from previous level III, according to state media, as the cit battles with a fresh outbreak of the new coronavirus.

Beijing has confirmed 106 new cases of coronavirus since June 11, said the local authority on Tuesday. Prior to that date, the 21 million-strong city had gone two months without any new infections.
