China’s coal imports jumped on month in July, iron ore, iron ore imports slightly higher – customs data

China’s coal imports reached 23.52 million tonnes in July, up 23.9% from 18.98 million tonnes in June, according to China’s customs data.

Coal imports in the first seven years of the year reached 139 million tonnes, sliding 18.2% from a year earlier, and average prices of coal imports reached 1,037.9 yuan per tonne, surging 93.2% from a year ago, showed the data.

China iron ore imports reached 91.24 million tonnes in July, up from 88.97 tonnes in June, and iron ore imports in Jan – Jul reached 626.8 million tonnes, down 3.4% from a year earlier, with average import price at 835.1 yuan per tonne, sliding 27.8% from a year earlier, according to China’s customs data.

China’s steel imports reached 789,000 tonnes, compared to 791,000 tonnes in June, and steel imports in Jan – Jul reached 6.56 million tonnes, falling 21.9% from a year ago, with average import price at 10,200 yuan per tonne, surging 28.7% from a year ago.
