China’s coal, natural gas production grew at faster pace in July, crude oil output slowed

China’s coal output grew by 16.1% in July from a year earlier to 370 million tonnes, accelerating by 0.8 percentage points from the growth in the previous month, with average daily output at 12.02 million tonnes, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday.

China imported 23.52 million tonnes of coal in July, sliding 22.1% from a year earlier, narrowing by 10.9 percentage points from the drop in June, showed the data.

China’s crude oil output grew by 3% in July from a year earlier to 17.13 million tonnes, slowing by 0.6 percentage points from the growth in the previous month, with average daily output at 552,000 tonnes, showed NBS data.

China imported 37.33 million tonnes of crude oil in July, sliding 9.5% from a year earlier, narrowing by 1.1 percentage points from the decline in June, according to the NBS.

China’s natural gas output grew by 8.2% in July from a year earlier to 17.1 billion cubic meters, accelerating by 7.8 percentage points from the growth in the previous month, with average daily output at 550 million cubic meters, according to the data.

China imported 8.7 million tonnes of natural gas in July, falling 6.9% from a year earlier, narrowing by 6 percentage points from the decline in June, showed the data.
