China’s economic momentum continued at the beginning of 2021 although the foundation for recovery from the damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic is “not yet solid”, the country’s top economic planner said on Monday.

The economic growth in the first two months of the year has continued a steady recovery momentum since the second quarter of 2021, said Ning Jizhe, vice chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
