China’s electricity, heating, water and gas industries’ profits grew at faster pace in Apr – NBS

China’s electricity and water supply industry’s profit continue to grow rapidly in April, with the total profit generated by the electricity companies, heating companies, gas suppliers and water suppliers surging 36.5% in April from a year earlier, accelerating by 8.9 percentage points from the previous month, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

Of that, electricity industry’s profit surged by 45.3% year over year in April driven by increasing power demand amid economic recovery, said the NBS.

The gas and water production and supply industries saw profit grow by 7.3% and 17.4%, respectively, in April from a year ago, according to the data.
