China's excavator sales maintained robust growth in May after hitting a record high in March, bolstered by a pick-up in infrastructure constructions and growing replacement demand due to tightening environment protection rules.

Chinese excavator makers sold a total of 31,700 of the machines in May, surging 68 per cent from a year earlier, according to data released by the China Construction Machinery Association. That marks the fastest growth pace since March 2019.
