China’s exports unexpectedly returned to growth in April, taking some pressure off manufacturers in the world’s second-largest economy.

Analysts warned that the outlook for China’s exports remains bleak as the slowing global growth and mounting job losses due to the coronavirus pandemic will likely dampen overseas demand for months to come.

China's exports rose by 3.5 per cent in April from a year earlier, reversing the 6.6 per cent fall in March and improving sharply from the combined minus 17.2 per cent collapse in January and February . . .
