Factory-gate price inflation in China eased slightly in June from the near 13-year high a month earlier, but still marked the second highest since 2008, while consumer inflation slowed driven by declines in food prices.

The producer price index (PPI) grew by 8.8 per cent in June from a year earlier, slowing slightly from a gain of 9 per cent in May, but remained the second highest since the fourth quarter 2008, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday.
