China’s heavy truck, construction machinery sales surge amid Beijing’s infrastructure push

China's sales heavy truck, excavator and other construction machinery has been rising significantly this year amid the government's efforts to step up infrastructure investment to boost the virus-hit economy.

Total sales of Chinese excavator manufacturers increased 54.8 per cent in July from a year earlier to 19,110 units, according to data from the China Construction Machinery Association.

In August alone, their excavator sales, including exports, amounted to 20,800 units, rising about 50 per cent from a year ago, according to 21CME, an industry information provider. The sales included 18 . . .
