China’s average daily national highway traffic during the National Day holiday (Oct 1 – 7) is expected to reach around 38 – 40 million vehicles, sliding 20% – 24% from the daily average of 49.86 million vehicles in the same period in 2021 and down 16% – 20% from that during the same period in 2020, according to estimates by the Ministry of Transport.
The figure would be about 46% higher than the daily average highway traffic since September, it said.
The peak for the highway traffic during the holiday is expected to appear on October 1, with about 45 million vehicles, it said.
