China’s industrial output grew 3.8% in July, slightly slower than prior month, missing expectations

China’s industrial output grew by 3.8% in July from a year earlier, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, slowing slightly from the 3.9% growth in the previous month and expected 4.6% in a survey by Wind Information.

In the first seven months of the year, China’s industrial output grew by 3.5% from a year earlier, showed the data.

In breakdown, output in the mining sector grew by 8.1% on year in July, manufacturing sector up 2.7% and utilities sector up 9.5%.

In particular, output in the coal mining and washing industry grew by 11% on year in July, oil and natural gas mining industry up 4.5%, automobile manufacturing industry up 2.5%, ferrous metal smelting industry down 4.3%, non-ferrous metal smelting industry up 2.3%, according to the NBS.
