China’s lithium prices continue to hit a new record high on Thursday. The average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate rises by 2,500 yuan per tonne to hit 561,500 yuan per tonne, a new record high, according to data from consultancy Shanghai Metals Market (SMM).

The price jumped by 10,500 yuan per tonne in the recent five days and soared by 65,000 yuan per tonne in the recent 30 days.

The average price of battery-grade lithium hydroxide rises by 2,500 yuan per tonne to 554,000 yuan per tonne, also an all-time high, showed SMM data. The price jumped 10,500 yuan per tonne in the recent five days and soared by 68,500 yuan per tonne in the recent 30 days.

Separate data from consultancy Mysteel showed that China’s average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate rises by 2,500 yuan per tonne to hit 570,000 yuan per tonne on Thursday.

The average price industry-grade lithium carbonate rises by 3,000 yuan per tonne to reach 557,000 yuan per tonne, also an all-time high, showed Mysteel data.
