China’s lithium prices jumped above 270,000 yuan per tonne for the first time on record driven by strong demand for new energy vehicles and year-end restocking in downstream industries.
According to data from consultancy Shanghai Metals Market, prices of battery-grade lithium carbonate in China hit 271,500 yuan per tonne on December 30, skyrocketing 412.3% from the start of the year and jumping 427.2% from the same period . . .
