China’s natural gas output grew at slower pace, imports fell over 15%

China’s natural gas output grew by 6.3% in August from a year earlier to 17 billion cubic meters, slowing from 8.2% growth in July, with average daily output at 550 million cubic meters, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.

China imported 8.85 million tonnes of natural gas in August, sliding 15.2% from a year earlier, expanding from the 6.1% fall in July, showed the data.

In the first eight months of the year, China produced 143.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas, rising 5.5% from a year earlier, and it imported 71.05 million tonnes of natural gas, sliding 10.2% from a year earlier, showed the data.
