China's top policymakers said the country would take steps to curb the spread of the coronavirus, support companies hit by the epidemic with measures including lowering loan rate and avoid large-scale layoffs.
The standing committee of the Politburo, the country's top decision-making body, said in a meeting chaired by President Xi Jinping that China would actively expand domestic and overseas demand, optimise investment structure of the funds from local government special-purpose bond sales and urged local governments to speed up construction of key projects, according to state media.
