Chinese carmaker BYD joined hands with Brazil’s largest dealer Saga Group to expand

Chinese electric vehicle and power battery maker BYD Company (01211.HK) (002594.SZ) said that it has collaborated with Saga Group, the largest dealer group in Brazil.

The two have opened the inaugural store in the Brazilian capital, Brasilia, bringing the number of BYD offline dealership stores in the country to ten. BYD’s presence in Brazil is expected to expand to 45 cities by the end of this year, with 100 stores set up by the end of 2023, the company said.

In Brazil, BYD has introduced models including the Tang EV, Han EV and D1, and recently started pre-sales of the hybrid Song Plus DM-i, it said

On October 19, BYD said that it had entered into a strategic partnership with Santander Bank in Brazil in order to provide local consumers with automotive financial services.With the service, Brazilian consumers can enjoy digital auto finance solutions, including credit assessment, credit review and payment options, when purchasing BYD vehicles.
