Global prices of energy products including coal surged in 2021 amid economic recovery and strengthening demand, sending coal miners' profits soaring.
Chinese coal mining and coal washing companies made a profit of 702.3 billion yuan in 2021, jumping 212.7% from the previous year, while their revenue reached 3.29 trillion yuan, increasing 58.3% on year, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
