Chinese President Xi Jinping visits rare earth base amid escalating trade tensions

Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a visit to the city of Ganzhou in Jiangxi province, where one of the country’s major rare earth mining and processing facilities is based, reported China's official Xinhua News Agency on Monday.

Notably, it's Xi's first domestic tour since the recent escalation of the US-China trade conflicts.

According to the report, Xi visited JL Mag Rare Earth Co, a major rare earth processing company based in Ganzhou and studied the local rare earth industry.
