Chinese regulators step up measures to stabilize coal prices which have been hovering above the authority's guidance prices, in a move to avoid a power crunch seen in the second half of 2021.

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner, last week vowed to take measures to penalize price-gouging coal enterprises in a bid to stabilize energy prices.
