China’s zero-COVID policy will take a considerable period of time to be relaxed and investors should patiently wait for more positive news, said Eva Lee, Head Greater China Equities, UBS Global Wealth Management.

The equity markets will likely remain turbulent amid the lingering uncertainties and the normalization of pandemic-prevention measures will bode well for consumer stocks and internet companies, she said.

In a longer term, stocks of companies in the renewable energy, electric vehicles and EV supply chain will be attractive due to China’s efforts in cutting carbon commissions, she said.

Regarding shares of mainland property developers, due to low base this year and as market correction is already in the late stage, the riskiest time is coming to an end, Lee added.
