Hong Kong retail sales post biggest drop on record amid massive protests

Retail sales in Hong Kong tumbled 23 per cent in August from the same month last year to HK$29.4 billion (US$3.76 billion), showed data released by the Census and Statistics Department on Wednesday, sliding for the 7th consecutive month, amid the massive anti-government protests and the prolonged China-US trade war.
