Macau casino operators’ stocks rally in Hong Kong, with Sands China up over 4%, Galaxy Entertainment rising nearly 4 up more than 3%, SJM Holdings and MGM China gaining over 2%.
That came after the State Council has approved the plan for Shenzhen, Zhuhai and the Hengqin Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone to implement multiple-entry travel policy.
Starting December 1, 2024, Shenzhen residents and holders of residence permits in Shenzhen may apply for a “multiple-entry-permit” for travel to Hong Kong, which allows unlimited trips to Hong Kong within one year, with each stay not exceeding seven days.
Starting January 1, 2025, Zhuhai residents may apply for a “once-a-week permit” for travel to Macau, which permits one trip per natural week within a one-year period, and residents and residence permit holders in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin may apply for a “multiple-entry-permit” for travel to Macau.
