London nickel prices soared more than 60% on Monday, their biggest one-day percentage gain on record, as supply disruption fears gripped markets amid an escalating Russia-Ukraine conflict and mounting sanctions against Moscow.

The three-month nickel futures on the London Metal Exchange surged by more than 60% on Monday to jump above $46,000 per tonne mark and hit a new record high and have now nearly doubled since the start of Russia . . .
