The city of Changsha in central China’s Hunan has become the latest one in the country to offer subsidies for new car buyers, in a move to assist a sector which had already been in a downturn and now is hard hit by stalled sales due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The economic planner in Changsha, capital city of Hunan, announced its plan to offer subsidies of up to 3,000 yuan ($428) per car purchase, reported the local Hunan Daily and confirmed by local auto dealers association.
