Shenzhen city to offer subsidies to new-energy vehicle buyers

The city of Shenzhen in southern China announced that it will offer up to 40,000 yuan ($5,659) in subsidies per vehicle to individual buyers of new-energy vehicles (NEVs), in an move to support the domestic auto sector which struggled amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Qualifying NEV owners will be able to receive Shenzhen’s subsidies on top of existing incentives offered by the central government to encourage people to buy passenger cars that meet certain technical requirements.

Shenzhen’s subsidies will be available for purchases after June 7 until the end of this . . .
