South China’s Guangdong province will tap the potential of auto consumption and to take multiple measures to expand sales of new energy vehicles, according to a notice on expanding domestic demand released by the provincial government.

Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the two biggest cities in the province, will optimize the restrictive policy on auto purchases, improve the regulation on car purchase qualifications, and promote the shift from the management on car purchases to the management or car uses, it said.

The authority will remove the restrictions on used-car relocation, optimize the management on used-car circulation, support old urban areas, schools, hospitals and other key places to increase the supply of parking facilities through renovation and new construction, it said.
