Sunny Optical sees shipments of handset lens slide 27.9% on year in Sept

Sunny Optical Technology, the largest handset camera module and lens producer in mainland China, said its shipments of handset lens reached 95.56 million units in September, sliding 27.9% from a year earlier, but rising 3.2% from the previous month.

The company’s shipments of handset camera modules reached 36.93 million units, sliding 31.2% from a year earlier and down 4.6% from the previous month, it said.

Its shipments and automotive lens reached 7.67 million units in September, surging 53.2% from a year earlier and rising 8.9% from the previous month, it said.
