China’s retail sales of passenger vehicles reached 1.65 million units in April, rising by 58% from a year earlier and increasing by 4% from the previous month, according to preliminary data released by the China Passenger Car Association.
In the first four months of the year, retail sales of passenger vehicle reached 5.94 million units, in lien with the volume in the same period last year, showed the data.
Retail sales of new energy vehicles reached 529,000 unis in the first quarter of the year, surging 87% from a year earlier, but down 3% from the previous month, according to the association.
During the first four months, retail sales of NEVs reached 1.85 million units, rising by 37% from the same period last year, it said.
