The Hang Seng Index opens down 0.78%, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index down 1% and the Hang Seng Tech Index down 1%.

Technology heavyweights are mostly lower, with Kingsoft Cloud slumping 8.5%, Alibaba down 2.35%, Baidu, NetEase, Meituan and Tencent down more than 1%.

Semiconductor companies continues sliding, with SMIC down 1%. Sports goods companies, internet healthcare service providers and airlines are mostly lower.

Biotech companies outperform. Tourism companies, education companies and catering companies are mostly higher.

The Shanghai Composite Index opens down 0.26%, the Shenzhen Component Index down 0.33%, and the tech-heavy Chinext Price Index down 0.35%.

Losses are seen across the board, with construction machinery companies, beverage makers, drugmaker makers, real estate developers, airlines leading the losses.
