Some 17,600 water conservancy projects started construction in H1, most on record – ministry

Some 17,600 new water conservancy projects started construction in the first half of the year, with a total investment of 720.8 billion yuan, increasing by 3,707 projects and 111.3 billion yuan from the same period last year, according to China’s Ministry of Water Resources. 

Of that, 1,095 water conservancy projects involved investment of more than 100 million yuan and the number of major water projects that started construction hit a new record high for the same period, according to the ministry.
