An advisor to China's central bank said the country should not set an economic growth target this year given the high level of uncertainty from the coronavirus outbreak and avoid flood-like stimulus to achieve the goal, according to the state-run Economic Daily.

Ma Jun said that it's impossible for China to maintain a GDP growth of higher than 6 per cent this year. "Even growth of between 4 - 5 per cent will be difficult to achieve."
