China's fiscal revenue declined further in April, though at a slower pace, while the fiscal expenditure returned to growth for the first time this year as the government stepped up spending to fight the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

The fiscal revenue fell 14.5 per cent in the first four months compared to a year earlier to 6.213 trillion yuan and its fiscal expenditure for the period dropped 2.7 per cent to 7.36 trillion yuan, according to data released by the Ministry of Finance on Monday.
