China's top policymakers have said that the country will issue special treasury bonds this year, the first issuance since 2007 and the third on record, as part of efforts to shore up the economy ravaged by the coronavirus outbreak.

While the market is waiting for more details about the bonds issuance during the annual session of the top legislature which kicks off this week, economists from government think tanks are discussing how the bonds should be issued and how the money should be spent.
