China's exports declined in May slower than expected, boosted by strong shipments of anti-coronavirus products, while imports slumped at a faster rate amid economic slowdown and escalating trade frictions with the United States.

The country's exports, in USD terms, declined 3.3 per cent in May from a year earlier, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs on Sunday. That's significantly better than a 7 per cent fall expected by analysts in a Reuters fall and compared to a surprising 3.5 per cent gain in the previous month.
