Nanjing city, the capital of the eastern China's Jiangsu province, announced new measures to curb real estate speculation amid overheating market.

In the lottery system for home purchases, Nanjing will allocate at least 30 per cent of each batch of new houses into the market to those who have local household registration, or Hukou, but don't currently own a house, according to a statement released by the local government on Thursday. The move is aimed to increase the odds of winning for those owning no house in the city.
