China home-price growth slowed for the first time in five months in July, as authorities maintained a more measured pace of monetary easing and some local governments tightened property curbs amid overheating signs in the housing markets.

New home prices for new homes in 70 major cities, excluding state-subsidized housing, increased 0.47 per cent in July, slowing from 0.58 per cent gain in June, showed data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday.
