China's civil aviation sector is gearing up for a surge in domestic air trips as the country looks to embrace its first long vacation since the coronavirus outbreak was brought under control.

Industry insiders say the number of air passenger trips during the upcoming week-long National Day Holiday, which falls between October 1 - 7 and Mid-Autumn Festival is expected to hit a new record high.
