China has lifted its import ban on some high-quality scrap metals after years' restrictions, indicating a move towards more recycling to meet a shortage of raw materials amid the country’s strong economic recovery.

China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment relaxed restrictions on imports of high-grade copper, aluminium and brass scrap, allowing imports of the products to resumed from November 1 this year, according to a statement this wee, which removes their classification as solid waste.
