China's crude steel demand to hit 1.1 billion tonnes in 2021, shows industry data

China's crude steel demand is expected increase further in 2021 to reach 1.1 billion tonnes amid economic recovery driven by infrastructure and real estate investment, according to industry data.

China's apparent consumption of crude steel is expected to exceed 1.06 billion tonnes for the full year of 2021, rising more than 4 per cent from this year, said Chen Kexin, analyst at Lange Steel, a leading steel industry consultancy in China.
