Coal prices at Chinese ports continued to surge in November to hit the highest level this year driven by increasing demand in the winter season and tight coal imports.

China’s CCTD Bohai-Rim spot thermal coal reference price stood at 621 yuan per tonne on November 25, rising 12.5 per cent from a year earlier. The price index jumped above 600 yuan on September 28 for the first time this year.

Another two major thermal coal price indexes also broke through 620 yuan to hit the highest this year. On . . .
