Chinese provinces posted double-digit economic growth in the first quarter of the year, with southern provinces showing a strong first quarter rebound while northern regions struggled to recover.

Of China's 31 provinces, 27 had released their economic data for the first quarter as of April 26. All of the 27 regions posted double-digit growth due to low comparison base during the same period last year amid the height of the domestic coronavirus outbreak.
